Over the weekend of August 1st -3rd a special conference in Chester will bring together young people from TMO and Guide Neighbourhood communities to share ideas, network and learn from others. The NFTMO Young Leaders Conference 2008 is the first of its kind.

If you are between 14 to 21 years old and you live in a housing area where there is a TMO or Guide Neighbourhood Project then this event may be for you. The conference aims to encourage the development of young leaders, include you in local decision-making structures that affect young people and also give you a national voice.

Highlights of the weekend will include…

Hands on media production that will prove meaningful and fun.
Sessions to develop young leaders as a voice for your community.
One-to-one sessions with Young Advisors
Workshops on fundraising for community based projects.
Exclusive presentation of a new Brazilian game recently demonstrated on Blue Peter…
BBQ , team games and much more!

TMOs and Guide Neighbourhoods will be invited to send 2 or 3 young people (aged 14-21 years) accompanied by an adult member of the organisation.

The young person’s places are FREE. The charge per adult will be £150 including accommodation and meals from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. Help with travel costs may be available. Places are limited and priority will be given to applications that can demonstrate how the event will be used to improve the involvement of young people in your community.
